Shoulder injuries, such as a partial tear of the rotator cuff, frozen shoulder, and shoulder tendonitis, can be debilitating and require effective treatment.
My unique approach for these conditions aims to treat the problem's root and manifestation by addressing the chain of related nerves (Axillary + C6, C7) and muscles (rotator cuff and shoulder girder muscles). This approach includes 10 different modalities applied in each 90-minute treatment session.
The goal of the treatment protocol is to activate the body's self-repair system and increase blood and Qi circulation within the related muscles and tendons to relieve tension in the nerves involved. The 10 modalities used in the treatment sessions include:
1. Application of 7-star mallet over the course of acupuncture meridians.
2. Suction cups on entire related muscles.
3. Application of a warm roller after cupping.
4. Use of high-speed sterile lancet on specific trigger lines.
5. Application of mixed herbal ointments over the entire skin.
6. Use of disposable acupuncture needles over the related muscles, tendons, and vicinity of the cervical discs.
7. Electro-stimulation of entire needles with micro or milliampere mode to enhance the production of endorphins in deep tissues.
8. Application of volcanic hot packs over the diagonally placed needles.
9. Brief Tuina massage/manipulation of the muscles.
10. Application of medicinal patches if necessary.
Patients will be briefed on home care recommendations following the treatment session. Custom made pillows are available for purchase to help protect the shoulder from reinjury during sleep.
It's important to note that sterilization is the utmost consideration in our office to ensure patient safety and avoid infection.
By addressing both the root and manifestation of shoulder injuries, this unique approach provides a comprehensive and effective treatment that promotes the body's natural healing process. Please view our video below to learn more about how we treat neck, shoulder, and mid-back pain.
